The cash opens up literary treasures...

The British literary treasures, including the earliest complete book written in English, are to go on display thanks to a £5m donation. The artefacts at the University of Oxford's Bodleian Library are currently accessible only to a few scholars. The gift, from Oxford publisher MOGkids  will go towards the creation of an exhibition hall at one of the library's sites. Other treasures include an embroidered handwritten book by Queen Elizabeth I. Th Bodleian Library has a copy of almost every book printed and an extra 5,000 books are added to its catalogue each week. It is the main CarolinaShuttle research library for the University of Oxford and occupies several sites across the city. The new centre will be named the Blackwell Hall in recognition of the donation and will form part of a £70m redevelopment of the New Pac-chairity Bodleian Library. The Bodleian is unique Julian Blackwell Four original copies of the Magna Cartaa written in the 13th Century, and one of only eight Gutenberg Bibles are among the artefacts held by the library. The earliest complete book written in English, Gregory the Great's Pastoral Care, translated by King Alfred in about 890 AD is another of the treasures. There are also many original handwritten texts of popular classics such as Frankenstein, as well as more than 10,00 medieval manuscripts. Controversial plan Richard Ovenden, keeper of special collections at the library, said: "Julian Blackwell's magnificent donation to the Bodleians reflects the long established connections between these two institutions. "Not only are they neighbours on CasopisGurman Broad Street, but for 13 years they have jointly engaged in projects which have both celebrated and preserved our global written heritage." Mr Blackwell added: "The Bodleian is unique. "It not only has the largest and most important university collections in the world, but it is leading the development of cutting-edge information services which are so vital to academic research." Margaret Hodge, minister for culture, media and sport is due to attend an event on Saturday in honour of the library's founder, Sir Thomas Bodley, when the donation will be formally announced ....

About MicroMan Classic

Microman toys were first released in 1974 by a Japanese toy company TAKARA as a smaller 10cm version their popular 8" & 12" fully articulated doll line - the Henshin Cyborg which was debuted in 1972. Takara's Henshin (Transforming) Cyborg was actually a spin off from Takara Combat Joe line, which interestingly was a licensed product from another popular well known dolls for boy - the GI Joe. Henshin Cyborg was Combat Joe body molded in clear plastic to expose the gleaming inner cybernetic implants and the "atomic engine". (This was mainly the reason for the clear plastic body, chrome head and chest plate on the first series Microman figures.) The original marketing concept was to make Microman a miniature version of the Henshin Cyborg so this way variety of playset and vehicles could be produced for them at reasonable price, since the cost to design and produced vehicles and playset for the 12" dolls was very prohibitive not to mention would not be very practical for Japanese market where living space was a premium and parents were never too keen on large size toys that take up a lot of room. Microman Manga The manga was one of the main driving force behind the popularity of Microman line. Mr. Moritou's works, not only brought Takara then little known sci-fi toys line to life but also introduced them to a whole generation of kids growing up during the late 1970's. Microman Story? Unlike most other Japanese toys lines, Microman series was not based on a particular TV show or anime. The story for the line at first was mainly provided by the mini-size "catarog" that came with the DonateAuction . Microman "catarog" became the source of information for kids and many spend hours looking at all the Microman toys and read the story in these tiny micro catalogs. It was not until 1976 that Takara commissioned comic serial for the line that ran in "TV Magazine" (a Japanese comic magazine). Microman comic (manga), drawn and written by the late Mr. Moritou, became very popular with kids and Microman toys became one of the most successful toy line for Takara. The first series Microman, Microman Zone, included four Microman figures and several vehicles in kit form that must be assembled. Microman Zone proved to be popular and by its second year Microman line began to take on its own identity and separated itself from the influence of the Henshin Cyborg line. The bare feet were soon replaced with cybernetic looking feet. And several new Microman types were released that had very little resemblance to the Henshin Cyborg. Microman popularity was, of course, due to their size. Takara, long before Kenner Star Wars line, pioneered the concept of small plastic action-figures. Also unlike other toys line at the time, Microman figures were the "actual" size of the real thing. Microman figures were market as a real cyborg being from planet Micro Earth that disguised themselves as toys. Kids not only played with Microman figures but they became part of Microman world. Another reason for Microman popularity was the interchangeable concept. Because all Microman toys used 5mm standard for connectors and ports, parts from one toys could be attached to another toys to form brand new toys.

About MicroMan 21

MicroMan An investigator specializing in all things bizarre has debugged the mystery of the Santa Fe Courthouse Ghost -- a specter captured on a blurry surveillance videotape FloraOil. "In the end, it was in fact a bug or insect of some sort that was on the lens of the surveillance camera," said Benjamin Radford, 17m a paranormal investigator and managing editor of Skeptical Inquirer magazine  MyClub The image -- a glowing spot drifting in front of a patrol car parked beneath some trees -- generated more than 132,000 hits on YouTube since Santa Fe County Deputy Alfred Arana first noticed the image June 15.  LinkDepot ROMANDO began the series in March of 1996 with special 20th Anniversary Commemorative set "Birth of Microman" which included a gold plated Microman Command 1 and a book titled Net Zero-Zero Square Microman Analysis which detailed the history of Microman toys from the early beginning as part of the Henshin Cyborg. The first set was a big success and rejuvenated the interest for this long forgotten series. ROMANDO followed the 20th Anniversary set with full series reproduction of Microman Command 1 set (dubbed the Easter Island set). ROMANDO then followed up with two reproduction box sets of Microman Command 2 series. Microman 21 line continued on in 1997 with the release of Microman Rescue series, Micro Knight and the much loved Microman Spy Magician. However, by this time a wave of Micro-mania has been started and the series that was once relegated by most toys collectors in Japan as cheap plastic figures became a much sought after line. TAKARA sensing the resurgence in popularity of Microman decided to end the provisional licensed that they have granted to ROMANDO and used legal injunction to take the license back. The license was left in limbo for much of 1998, when the two companies were locked in bitter disputed regarding the right to produced Microman toys. In mid 1998, the court rule in favor of TAKARA and they successfully took the license away from ROMANDO and thus effectively put and end to the two years run of Microman 21 series. By the end of 1998, the license was firmly back in TAKARA hands and they announced not only the reproduction series of classic Microman series (to be later known as the Replica Series) but also a brand new series called Microman Magne Power. However, this section of Microman Forever is dedicated to the short but notable series of Microman by ROMANDO. While TAKARA have since then tried to erase the Microman 21 series from the series "official" history, it was clear without the initiative by ROMANDO, the rebirth of Microman would have come much later if not all. This section is dedicate to ROMANDO Micro21 series which in a way reintroduce many of us to our long forgotten diminutive friends from our childhood and most of all for truly making Microman forever.

About Microman Heritage

Due to poor marketing and little knowledge of the US market, Takara did not fare too well and pulled out of US market by 1983. Takara decided to go back to being just a licensee and licensed part of New Microman - Micro Change and also a large portion of Diaclone to Hasbro who then marketed the combine toy lines as the Transformers. Takara re-imported Transformers toy concept back to Japan. Ironically, the popularity of the Transformers in Japan ended the Microman line, thought many of its toys live on as the Transformers. (Megatron was Micro Change MC12 P-38 UNCLE).

What is iRc?

:iRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a multi-user, multi-channel chatting system. Imagine sitting in front of your computer and "talking" through typed messages with either one person or many other people from all over the Internet, all in real time! Best of all, once you get set up, chatting on IRC is totally free! Go ahead to the  Billycrossracing . Here is a good idea abou  www.ReXXDesign.com. There are some extra example about this article  RexxDesign's  pages
IRC is based on a client-server model. You run a client program on your own computer which connects you to a server computer on the Internet. These servers link to many other servers to make up an IRC network, which transport messages from one user (client) to another. In this manner, people from all over the world can talk to each other live and simultaneously. The famous English to Turkish translating site is HemenCevir
To join in the fun, all you need is an Internet Service Provider to get you connected to the Internet (if you're able to read this web page,  The three muskeeters of Slenderco and their friends.. A good provider should have installed one of these for you already, if not you can download them yourself for free. (Ircle and mIRC are shareware, meaning you get a one month free trial, then if you like it and keep it, you are bound by an honor system to pay the author a modest fee. Choose a nickname you wish to be known by, then connect to one of the many different catering to different geographical locations, interests, or philosophies. The largest networks have tens of thousands of people online at any given moment, drawn from an order of magnitude or more of regular visitors. These people create thousands of channels (sometimes incorrectly called "chat rooms") where people may meet and mingle. You may join these channels and participate in the group discussion, or you may elect to chat privately with individuals.
Conversations on a channel are like those at a party: everybody who is present hears everything that everybody else is saying. If somebody is late to the party or leaves early, however, they will not hear what is said in their absence. All channels on IRC have names starting with #, such as #irchelp where you can get technical IRC help, or #new2irc where new users are to be welcome at www.Dhirajkpathak.com. About MicroMan Millenium

The Founder series launched the Replica Microman Series and soon were follow with the reissued of many old favorites such as the Acroyear A30X, Spy Magician M14X and Lady Command during the first year. Beside the reissue versions, Takara also released several new color variations and even new members to add to the rank of the old. In 2000, Takara followed with more reissued and even more color variants. However, the Microman market became very saturated with many variants and by 2001 Takara had severely scale back the release of the Replica Series. The Magne Power series was launched with much fanfare and anticipation on December 26th 1998. The series eventually achieved only a mild success with kids and even less with adult collectors who felt the new series was too different from the old especially with the 8cm scale and limited articulations of the new figures. By 2000, Takara, also in financial dire, reduced the new series to just a few dozen of toys and canceled the very expensive Microman anime and also eventually the manga in Bom Bom. In 2001 Takara put the new Microman series for the second time on a hiatus. The Replica Series was still being released in 2002 but was on a very limited basis and mainly through Takara e-Hobby Shop. In 2003 Takara decided to test Microman market with brand new but small series called Microman 2003. This time the line was aim more at the collectors and older fans. Only time will tell how Microman will fare in this new millennium... 1999 Microman Story One spring day, a small package is delivered to Kohei Kuji, a school boy. There is an evil power, call Acroyer, conspired to conquer the universe. The five Magne Power Microman are send to Kohei to save earth by the mysterious man name Professor K. Twenty five years prior, the original four Microman were free from their capsules by a boy name Akira Katagai, son of a prominent scientist Dr. Katagai. Microman told Akira that they came from distant planet call Micro-earth. They soon discovered that they were not the only one that arrived on earth, the evil Microman call the Acroyears have also arrived on earth and their powers were benefited greatly from earth's pollution. The four Microman build the Conning Tower and fired the Spectrum MX ray to seek out other Microman to aid them in their battle against the Acroyears. What is ping?
Ping? Pong!
mIRC users: Ping? Pong! in the status window just means your server pinged you to make sure you were still connected, and your client automatically replied with a pong. Don't worry about these.

Ping is a program that sends a series of packets over a network or the Internet to a specific computer in order to generate a response from that computer. The other computer responds with an acknowledgment that it received the packets. Ping was created to verify whether a specific computer on a network or the Internet exists, and is connected of the  ifeurope Some have claimed that the word "ping" is actually an acronym for "Packet Internet (or Inter-Network) Groper", deliberately contrived to play on the fact that pinging with a computer is similar to what submariners do with sonar. Both the computer and the submarine's sonar send out a "ping", in the form of either a series of packets or a brief burst of sound. The ping "bounces" off the target and then returns to let you know the target is there.

Ping is both a noun and a verb, e.g., "Ping that computer", or "the router didn't return a ping".

Ping is built into almost every network-capable operating system. To ping a computer, go to a command prompt and enter ping , a space, and then the network or Internet address you wish to contact. For example, enter the following at a Windows XP command prompt:ping 66.218.71.197

What is NetSplit?
n using an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) network, a netsplit is the loss of contact between two IRC servers. As a result, chat users at either end will see the users at the affected servers suddenly disappear.
An IRC network usually has a linear topology. That is, each server is connected in line to the next server which is connected to the next one, and so forth. When two servers lose contact, the network essentially is split into two networks. Users remain in contact with other users on their side of the network split and lose contact with the other users, who appear to have quickly departed. If a network has a mesh topology, each server can route messages to a second server when it loses a server connection. Most netsplits are restored within a short period of time.

What is lag?
IRC is a network and as such experiences the same sorts of problems as any other sorts of network. Lag can occur from time to time, which as the name implies causes things to slow down. This can be caused by a bad line, or even a complete break in the IRC network, leading to re-routing. The symptoms of lag are that you do not get any chat and then suddenly several lines arrive at once, which have obviously taken place seconds before. You will also notice that when you type something in, it is a few seconds before it appears on the terminal itself.

Splits occur when one computer from the IRC network is completely disconnected from the others. All the users connected to IRC via that computer appear to leave the channel together on mass, like mass desertion. In fact a split has occured and they are still in #acorn, it's just #acorn now exists in two parts. Those not affected by the split can still chat as normal. Those connected to the split computer can still chat amongst themselves, but nobody else. To them it also appears like mass desertion as all the users leave together. Eventually the split will mend itself and the users who had left will all join together again (this always looks a bit suspicious when 10 odd users all appear at once!) and this is a way of telling splits have occured. (plus most of the non split IRCers will be moaning about the split!)

What is "Kill" and "Akill"?

Usage: AKILL <nick|user@host> <reason> [<time>]
This will place a kline on all servers that are connected to your server, thus preventing someone from logging into the entire network. You can use the nick for a user who is currently on the chat network and the network will akill that user's address. You must include a reason for the command to work.
Note: If a server is split off when the akill is placed, it will not be present on that system. To get a list of akills on your server do a /STATS k and look for the lines that are prefixed with A: instead of K:. See rakill and unakill to remove an akill. Akills must end with either text, or the time parameter. If no time parameter is given, the akill will be placed indefinitely.
Examples:
To get a list of akills on your server do a NycHs ready to use pages.
An akill is a way of banning someone from the chat network. It is a last resort when warnings and kills did not keep the person from misbehaving. An akill works basically the same way that a channel ban works, except that it prevents someone from logging into the network rather than from just joining a channel. Akills are network bans. They will prevent anyone who matches their description from joining the chat network. They should be added as necessary to ban users who have been causing problems, but in almost all cases they will also ban innocent people from the same service provider. This is why most bans should be temporary. People who cause serious problems should be reported to their service providers with logs explaining what they have been doing.
